According to the issue that knowledge gained from experience or from books. In my opinion, I think from experience is more important. Although there still have advantages to learn from books, but the way we live is closer to us. Learning from experience is more reality for us, we know how to do something quickly, and we learn faster if we have our own experiences. If you learn from books, you still have spend many times to think about the benefits from books and hoe to use it; while you have experiences, you can use what you learn quickly and make our lives more efficiency.

A change

The most important change in my life was my time in senior high school. First, I met a good teacher. She made me realize my shortcomings clearly, and she took care of me so much, even though she was strict. Second, I was faced with a lot of pressure due to the preparation for the colleage entrance examination. Most of the time I was worried about it, and even had physical problems. Thrid, I made some good friends to study with and spend time with. This made me understand what a real friend is-when you're in need, they are there to lend a helping hand. Thanks to my experiences in senior high school, I got into a good university and am learning a lot. And of course, I know how to prganize my life better and get along with other people.

Mid-term

This week is for mid-term, from last week until now, I am very busy. There are many tests and reports that I have to prepare. From this period of time, I totally realize a point, that is I should concentrate on every classes, reading ever subjects in the daily life, review and preview it after classes; though I know I should do it before, owing to my laziness, I didn't do it. Therefore, I decide to achieve this goal and action firmily, I don;t want to let my laziness to my downfall. Most of my friends in the colleage have the same opinion as I thought, so we plan to form a reading group to study those difficult subjects together, I think it is a efficient way to learn more and prepare the upcoming exams. This mid-term I know I won't have good grades in most of subjects, this lesson was overwhelming, it make me conscious how serious the mistake I have at all times. Therefore, I will face the problems bravely and resolve the problem that I have. Maybe I still can't reach my goal, I will do my best. Instead of predict the bad result, I deicide to have confidence with myself first.

CONCERT

About two weeks ago, I joined a concert in our school's playground, it was a famous band that I love so much, it was MAY DAY came to Providence University !! That concert was on friday, I planed to go home originally, but I love May Day so much that I couldn't miss their concert. The concert started at 6:30 p.m. but there were many people lined up at 12:00 a.m. !! Due to I had class in the afternoon, I and Erin were lined at 4:00 p.m. In that moment, the procession was really long but I was not surprised. As soon as I entered to the place where hold the concert, I felt really exciting about the stage and big screens in the each side. That was a great concert, although I was standed quit far from the stage, I was satisfied to see my idol. Besides, I sang a lot of their famous songs with them, the atmosphere was made me totally crazy. Although I was felt really tired after the concert, I was joyful for that. One of reasons I love MAY DAY's songs is because their song's lyrics attached our daily life. I think I will support them and listen to their songs forever.

some ideas comes to me

Someone thought that a university's student should playing all the time, but I don't think so. I have more responsibilities to take, no one supervise me all days like senior high school's teachers, I should arrange my own time instead. Otherwise, I make many decisions of my own. And now, I'm not a freshman anymore, I am a sophomore, there are more and more challenges I faced. Besides, I set a goal and hope to finish it within three years in the future. I trust myself I must can do it. I'll find some conducive ways to go ahead and maximize my strength to do everything better.

HW:week2 write a story's summary

Situation: The book"The Magic Porridge Pot" is about a little girl who recieved a magic pot because an old woman thought she was poor to have nothing to eat.

Conflict: The old woman told the little girl if she said "cook, little spot, cook"and the spot would cook her some very good porridge.

Suffer: One day, the little girl went out for a walk, her motherwanted to use that magic spot, but she forgot to tell the magic spot to stop cooking, so the spot went on cooking, unfortunately, she forgot how to say some words to stop it.

Outcome: Soon the full house and the houses in the street were full of porridge. Finally, the little girl came back to home and said these words" Stop, little spot, stop!" so the magic spot stopped cooking porridge.

Reflection/Reaction: This little story told me that I should do everything carefully, or it may cause big disaster. For example, if you forget to turn off fuel gas and you go out all day without anyone at home, your house might be burned.

This summer, I am a sophomore in September, more and more new lessons will begin, I think I should learn how to deal with my time. Though there are many difficulties waiting for me, I won't afraidof it, I just do my best to do everything.

In this writing course, I expect to improve my writing skills and let my composition more fluently. My grammar is very poor, I hope my wrong part of article will be corrected.

I think I will write something about my school life, when funny things happend, what problem I face now ...something like that.

My goal in this semster is to improve my English speaking and writing abilities, for me, this part is my weakness of learning English. In addition, I hope a year later I can successfully past TOEFL test and go aboard to learn more.

Introduction of myself

My name is Daisy Hsu, I come from Taiwan Taipei, I was born in July5 . I have many interests like listening to music, singing, reading the novels, watching to movies, riding the bike, surfing in the internet...and so on. I think I am fortunate to attend Providence University to learn, there have good enviroment and abundant resources. In addition, I meet many good friends to learn together. Moreover, I think I will have a substantial school life and smile every day.
